Did I see an Allard yesterday?

Coming up the M40 I was overtaken by an unrecognisable car with an Allard badge on the boot. At a guess it was fairly new, petrol blue, about the size of an Omega, with round rear lights set into the bodywork, similar to a Lexus. It had a personal plate on it, (A1 LTR) with a BARC badge alongside. I didn't see the front. I'm aware that Allards were produced in the 40's and 50's but have never seen one this recent. Anyone throw any light on it?

Yes, I read somewhere four or five years back (I think) that whoever owned the Allard name was bringing it back with a re-bodied Lexus LS400 - or maybe it was the GS300. So that would explain why it looked like a Lexus.
