First of all, I think that today the car was very good. The pace was strong in the race. I think you could see that we were losing a bit here and there, but overall it was a good race. It was a very busy start, and Vallteri was very aggressive. As for what happened at the restart from the safety car, I don’t know why I got the penalty and Lewis didn’t. It’s disappointing, because it could have been a better result. I don’t have a problem with Lewis but I just think that what he did on the track was not ok. By now the decision is done but, in an episode like this one, I still think that if you give out a penalty, then it should be to both drivers.
Clearly there is going to be more issues during the year between Vettel and Hamilton.

I was starting to gain a lot of respect for Vettel, after Sundays little tantrum I now rate him as a spoilt brat.
OK, so as I saw it there were TWO incidents, first incident was Lewis supposedly "Brake testing" Vettel resulting in a bump. The second was Vettel driving alongside Lewis to gesture disapproval and then purposely turning right to bump into Lewis. That's what Vettel was penalised for.
So why is the Brat now complaining or didn't that second incident happen?

Vettel's comments are nothing new, and entirely consistent with how he has been in other situations when he's done something obviously wrong. You're not going to back him into a corner and get an admission out of him in public. It's how he is.
One thing I'll say though, an angry Vettel is a bloody fast Vettel. He channels it pretty well I think. I for one, am looking forward to seeing how things develop.

This. It's like he has been penalised for just the one incident.... ignoring the fact that there were two entirely separate things.OK, so as I saw it there were TWO incidents, first incident was Lewis supposedly "Brake testing" Vettel resulting in a bump. The first one could be considered a racing incident, he was caught napping or was over zealous with his take off - he obviously forgot that the LEAD car controls the pace and decides when to start racing again. He didn't want to get left behind, sure, but he judged it wrong and should accept that. He could well have caused terminal damage to both cars with only a little nudge - lucky to get away with it. That could, in some eyes, be accepted as a racing incident without further punishment, other than maybe a warning.
Driving alongside and literally bumping into Hamilton - that was ridiculous, and an entirely separate incident. How a several times world champion can have that sort of attitude is insane. I would expect that of maybe a fiery 17 year old, but consider someone like Alonso doing that - yes he is an emotional bloke but literally driving into the other car? It was exceedingly dangerous and personally I feel it does bring the sport into disrepute somewhat, especially when combined with the leniency of the punishment. I read an article somewhere that suggested the stewards didnt want to interfere too much with the championship - isn't that the whole bloody point? If one of the two main championship rivals acts like an absolute bellend, spoiled child or whatever you want to call him, shouldn't the punishment potentially affect the championship outcome to prevent such an incident happening in future?
Maybe i'm overreacting, I am not a sympathiser to either driver but Hamilton certainly showed more maturity on this particular occasion.
I was really warming to Seb after his Red bull years. He turned into a quite witty funny driver in the interviews.
The true colours are coming out now. Very stupid move.
I'll be at Silverstone in a couple of weeks, be interesting to see the British fans response to him if he bags a podium.
Can't see it being positive.

Was Vettel's stop-go penalty for hitting the back of Hamiltons car, or for hitting the side?
As above, if he was punished for running into the back of Hamilton whilst he was backing up the pack (which he's entitled to do) Vettel would have a (very) slim argument that it was a racing incident and if there was to be a punishment, punish both.
Vettel has no argument if the drive-through was for his wheel banging tantrum. Everybody can see he was bang out of order there.

It was for the second, deliberate side-swipe. In my view he should have been disqualified and was lucky not to have been.As above, if he was punished for running into the back of Hamilton whilst he was backing up the pack (which he's entitled to do) Vettel would have a (very) slim argument that it was a racing incident and if there was to be a punishment, punish both.

I am not so sure it was deliberate. if you look right whilst driving, we do have a tendency to move to the right.
Eh?Professional racing driver. Four times world champion and you can't drive one-handed (his choice) in a straight line.
His emotional control leaves much to be desired.

Disgraceful loss of self control from Vettel at his perceived & incorrect injustice after running into the rear of the lead car, if the powers that be had any balls they would of black flagged vettel & excluded him from the race.
Unless further action is taken against him now & the forcing of a proper apology to the wider world & Lewis it leaves the sport looking like it's frightened of doing the right thing, there should be no hiding & pathetic stony faced denying of what we we all saw as a clear & deliberate side swipe into anther car in a fit of rage.
Must be punishment for that sort of behaviour no matter who commits the transgression & or any possible impact on the championship outcome.

Maldonado only got a 5 place grid penalty when he deliberately side-swiped Hamilton at much greater speed at Spa in 2011, and a 10 place penalty when he did the same to Perez in Monaco. Both of these incidents were arguably much worse than Vettel's indiscretion due to the speed at which they occured.Unless further action is taken against him now & the forcing of a proper apology to the wider world & Lewis it leaves the sport looking like it's frightened of doing the right thing, there should be no hiding & pathetic stony faced denying of what we we all saw as a clear & deliberate side swipe into anther car in a fit of rage.

Deluded article said:
Target fixation is an attentional phenomenon observed in humans in which an individual becomes so focused on an observed object (be it a target or hazard) that they inadvertently increase their risk of colliding with the object. It is associated with scenarios in which the observer is in control of a high-speed vehicle or other mode of transportation, such as race-car drivers and motorcyclists.[1] In such cases, the observer may fixate so intently on the target that they steer in the direction of their gaze, which is often the ultimate cause of a collision.
