How much to rent a house in rural France?

We just want to get away from our current existence in southern England. Just two of us, no specific ties except a house to sell here, which we think should be fairly straightforward. Don't want to buy again, don't really know where we want to go, just get a rough idea of rental costs for a small house outside the major cities. Thanks everybody.

You could try hooking in with some of the expat community on https://www.angloinfo.com/france

Choose your region and pop a little wanted ad on there... they also have links to estate agents

Alternatively try https://www.leboncoin.fr/... choose a region... click immobiler then 'locations' (means rentals) or vacances 'Locations et gites'

I think there's plenty of supply, especially for longer lets.... properly liveable places start at around 450euro a month...

When are you looking to come? We have a small 2 bed cottage across the courtyard that's available from Oct at a very cheap rent. We are 35mins from Limoges Airport and about the same to Limoges Centre.

I maybe jumping the gun here but well with my mums poor health & my dad passing away 18 months ago I think we are going to be looking to sell our home in Savigné-sous-le-Lude. About 40 minutes from Le Mans, Easy to get to and rural, yet close enough to civilisation to get your day to day things.

It has always been used as a summer house so populated between April / May - October / November but it will need a little work. New kitchen & other things but just needs to be tailored to your own tastes I guess.
