Tramlining 930 Turbo
Discussion
There will be a little tramlining normally. This is because you have fat-ish tyres, light front end, quite hard suspension and geometery set up for turn in.
However, it is easy for suspension geometery to be knocked out by potholes etc and it may be worth getting a full alignment check. This is over 100 quid, but well worth it, especially if you have uneven tyre wear. It will improve high speed stability and reduce understeer/oversteer, too. I'd recommend a Porsche main dealer or independent. Maybe G-Tech Motorsport (? place where UV went) or someone near you with a good suspension reputation.
Cheers

Is this a normal trait of cars of this type/ era.Should I get the suspension checked?

Howdy, Steve.
Buggers, aren't they? Don't worry, they all do this; even the old 928s suffered somink similar.
My car is forever being knocked off kilter and (perhaps with the exception of the latest 996 variants) I've read about this several times over the years, particularly with the Turbos (but as Domster says, it's 'owt with gumball tyres really).
One day we'll get the roads we deserve rather than the 4x4 courses we currently suffer and such things will be merely a rather irritating memory...
If you feel yourself TLing, just accelerate into the adjoining county! Yyyyyyyeeeehaaargh!
