Hi I have a K Series engined 7 with an Apollo tank. As many of you will know with that set up the water gauge can be switched to show oil temperature via a two way (ON/ON) toggle switch.

For a while the displayed water temperature has been unreliable with the fan kicking in whilst the temperature is apparently below 82 degrees (indicated). However if I then recycle the switch it will show different water temperatures whilst the oil remain consistent and eventually a water temperature corresponding to the fan is displayed.

I have wiggled wires and sprayed wd40 to no avail and I think the water temperature side of the switch may be too worn to be reliable.

I checked the Caterham parts website and they have indicator switches (ON/OFF/ON) and headlight flasher switches (ON/OFF) listed but apparently no ON/ON switches.

Can anyone recommend where to source the appropriate 12v ON/ON switch please? Or does anyone have a spare one I could purchase?

I think you need to be looking for a 2 pole changeover switch. Changeover being the key word. However since I don't have a circuit diagram, that is just a guess.

Thank I managed to get this sorted on another forum. I am going for an APEM HS636H2:
Toggle Switches, Std, 15A Metal Lever
Single and double pole switches with a choice of flat insulated or nickel plated brass levers.
12mm mounting bush
250 ( 1/4 in.) terminals
Brass actuator and Melamine/Polyester case
Silver/Nickel Alloy contacts

I bought an on/off/on toggle switch c/waterproof cover from 12V Planet for about £3.50 for exactly this use.
