After a quarter of a century collecting modern watches I'm fed up with it and am selling them off. Is the only way to offer them to PHers via the classifieds, or can I, for example, pm people who've mentioned they're looking for something specific? What's the protocol?

I suspect any so-called protocol has gone out the window in the last hour and a bit….so for those who’ve no idea as to what your collection is, perhaps a group photo would be in order.
Just out of additional idle curiosity, what has you fed up, and ditching the watches? The two can be mutually exclusive.

It's a boring story but the upshot is a loss of interest in them. Same happened with my cars.

Time passes, people change. What used to be fascinating becomes dull and then irritating. I had a certain shallowish understanding of horology but tbh it never hugely interested me. So I was left like a magpie collecting shiny objects for the sake of it.

I'm happier with one good watch than display boxes of rarely worn ones.

Advertising in the forums is verboten. That's what the classified section is for.
I doubt I'd even be allowed to say that I'm happy to be pm'd with stuff like this.

Well it's about 50% gone now, but wouldn't a picture contravene the advertising rules here?

If not I'll be glad to post one. The PPs Rollies and Pams are all away but there's still omegas breitlings cartiers junghanses etc etc left. About 15 or so all in, minus the ND Sub daily beater I'm keeping along with a sentimental Tag and a crazy indestructible Citizen for times when a crazy indestructible watch is the only watch to wear.

Which Omega and Junghans are you minded to get rid of?

Guys: I sent a reply to DJMC about the Citizen I'm keeping, including a pic of a very similar one. But the post got deleted because it broke a couple of posting rules. Don't quite get that seeing as it was about a watch I'm NOT selling, but that's life...

One way or another I think this thread isn't very welcome and could easily get deleted for one breach of posting rules or another. So I'm going to ask that the whole thread just gets binned rather than cause a nuisance.

So often it seems to come back down to a ND Sub, it's amazing isn't it!

I've been doing something similar to a smaller degree but it involved shifting 5 Breitlings, I may start consolidating further, MIGHT go from 42mm Explorer 2 and Ceramic GMT 2 and Pelagos to 4 line ND Sub and Pepsi / Coke GMT

Yep, often happens but nobody can exactly explain why? For me it started getting worn more often and for longer until it was virtually the only watch getting worn. Now it really IS smile

Yep that's much much posher than mine. But bearing in mind the recent previous deletion experience I'm not sure I can say any more without causing offence in some way frown
