Part ex with a dealer perhaps?

Some chains have a strict auction only policy.

Could be a nice buy for someone.

Must have been a keen tester who flagged a scrapped front spoiler as an MOT advisory looking at its MOT history LOL

All this is my old car and was just traded in against a AMG GTS last week.
Its in great mechanical condition and is fully wrapped on front end with, I Believe, original paint, underneath.
Its in great condition, clear in all aspects and is a unique official press car.
I owned it for 8/9 years but was simply time to move on.
Very good history, OPC & Independent, new suspension, and healthy file of receipts
Hope this assist any potential interested parties

biggrin the power of Piston heads......Very surprising to see such a rare car be sent to auction.. I would have thought there would be string of specialist keen to buy...but then again an auction might be the dealerships route to the best price.

Great to here its a good un

Lovely looking beast too. Will be interesting to see what it fetches at auction.

I wonder if the previous owner has the "history" for it still? - if so, it's got to be worth a serious drink for whoever bought it surely (given it was listed as no S/H)? It's sad though it went to auction.

Not a bad price! I would be interested to see what the dealer gave for it.

Mine doesn't . I think both were options but i believe most cars have half cages.

124k plus taxes is a fair price i think.

Blue ones are faster though . Everyone knows that !!

Cars were delivered with front sections but not fitted. Owners perogative. Many were not fitted as they are a little dangerous for road use. No doubt some were lost along the way

All, the car was delivered to dealer with all paperwork and stamped history.
I replaced all pipework from front to back, rads, coolers etc and welded in the water jacket pipes and had brand new billys fitted recently.
It was a very good car but like most at those miles wasn't mint but it does have provenance as it is official press car.
It sold for not much more than i got for it against a '16 plate 5K miles AMG GTS which i am really enjoying.
It has gave me greater confidence in my other 911s especially in the wet.
Loved the RS and hope new owner enjoys her

996RS is a legend. Had the joy of driving one over two days at Ascari and loved every minute of it
