Hello!

Looking to replace my leased car and ideally I now want to buy something and keep it for around 5 years.

My heart is set on an e92 335i or 330i, LCI onwards, but I'm open to suggestions. My criteria is petrol, auto and quick (ish) with a 10-12k budget. I could go higher if something really takes my fancy but I don't want to go too crazy.

Any recommendations please?

If you are set on an auto then the 335i drives a lot better than a 330i auto due to having loads of torque from 2500 revs however getting an LCi post 200910 model for that budget will mean higher miles.

I have had an E92 N53 330i SE Auto since January this year.

I initially loved it - quiet, lovely ride, quick, comfy, toys and considering the engine, pretty good mpg (35mpg commute and 44mpg on a motorway cruise at 70ish)

Then I started falling out of love with it. It was a bit too accomplished. It was undoubtedly quick but there was no drama. Engine seemed muted. There was little 'buzz' to driving it on my twisty A road commute (my main driving mileage)

However, after six months and 4000 miles I have grown to appreciate it again. I toyed with a 'louder' exhaust, but it would spoil the character. Getting used to it after a MINI Clubman S has been the issue I think..... I haven't had an auto for some time and I think this has taken sometime to get used to too.

So..I would recommend it!

Mine is manual, but they're available as automatics too.
