Buying a BMW 3 series with 80k+ on the clock !
Discussion
Hi all. Been looking at buying a BMW 3 series 318i from 2007 onwards. However most I've come across within my price range have done roughly 80k miles. Just want to see what your thoughts are and if it's a good idea to buy a BMW with higher mileage and your past experiences/ any problems you have come across. Thanks!
Why do you think 80k is high mileage! average mileage on a 10 year old car would be 120k, 80k on a 10 year old car is low mileage!
i have run several BMWs into high mileage
E30 318is up to 145k
E46 318ci up to 155k
E90 325i up to 125k
and my current F31 330d is 3 years old and on 80k.
No significant problems with any, other than slightly high oil consumption on both the E46 and E90, but still within BMW tolerances. at 80k a 3-series is just run in, stop worrying and buy one. i think people that pay a premium for low mileage cars are often misguided it should be about condition and how it has been maintained.
