Looking for either

SUV or Estate car with a long roof to carry kayaks and tow the caravan.

Budget up to £4K

Suv
Honda CRV

Estate
Subaru legacy/forester/outback
Mondeo
Volvo V70

Any thing I've missed?

The logical choice is the CRV but im told they are the dullest things to drive
The Subaru is going to be the drivers choice when untethered

Any views
Owners care to comment?

TIA

Wouldn't be an issue for any of the cars mentioned then.

A bigger, heavier car will tow better, but the higher the car is, the more difficult it will be to put stuff on the roof.

They are nice, they like a drink, double check the road tax as some are £500 and some £300
