O/T - Badgers..
Discussion
Amazing the number of those shy creatures you see slain on the roads though... I've met many in the car on a dark night but always managed to stop or swerve to avoid them... I think a lot of people just don't bother and mow them down..

On the subject of badgers, I was rudely awakened early one morning last summer to find one nibbling at my plums.
That's the plums on the plum tree, in the garden. Little bugger was halfway up the garden fence scoffing away without a care in the world, making a hell of a racket trying to hang on with one paw.
And a badger (with a few mates) can make a hell of a mess of your lawn too - a bit fond of earthworms and happy to dig up your lawn to look for them. Have got up in the morning 9 or 10 times to find the lawn looking like 50 trainee golfers have used it as a tee. Repeatedly. All night. With shovels.
When it takes 2 hours to tread in the divots you start to go off badgers. In fact I seriously considered promoting badger hair shaving brushes in retaliation
(Can't believe I've just typed this drivel, even if it is all true...)

Out walking the dog in some fields near my Dads house a few years ago, he found a dead badger. It looked a bit suspect so I called the RSPCA who put me onto the local police who came over and 'investigated' as there is a real problem with badger baiting in their neck of the woods. I really am amazed that this sort of thing can still go on..

I think some people still think they are the cause of Bovine Terberculosis (sp?) .. its not really their fault they catch it from the cows is it...?
Cheers
