~£15,000 do it all car with back lane bias.

Hello all,
My first ever post on here is one looking for a little advice. Having got house purchasing out of the way its time to upgrade my car!
I currently have a fairly "track" modified mk.1 MX-5 and a mk.5 golf gti. However the previously mentioned house purchase has left me needing to cut down to one vehicle, the mx-5 is at my dads house and never gets driven which is sad.
I was looking initially at an s2 elise or vx220 turbo, however these may be slightly too impractical- I am likely to be driving around Europe in a couple of months with a woman in tow, who is utterly dismayed at the thought of a 200litre boot.
I have been looking around and I have been left a little underwhelmed so far, few e46 M3s about which seem a pretty solid investment. I am not really too excited by the Japanese offerings- integras etc. Found myself muttering about a mk.3 mx5 and pocketing the change earlier but that doesn't feel particularly special. There is of course the potential to just sticking some of the cash down, and getting a gt86 on a PCP deal- but again this leaves me feeling a little dull inside.
Any advice would be gratefully received.

With back lane bias in mind I'd say the Megane RS265 Trophy is very hard to beat, the standard 265 Cup is a weapon but the Trophy steps it up a notch & it'll do European trips with ease.
