The time has come to seriously think about buying a radar/gatso detector. Any advice to or for particular makes/models would be much appreciated.

I have come to the conclusion that a GPS detector Road Angel used in conjunction with a Bel SL920 Laser Jammer is the best combination. About 600 quid the pair.

Where do fit the Jammer, Dom. And can I take a look on POTB?

I haven't got around to purchasing them yet... I imagine you'd fit the laser blinder 'heads' in air intake slats gaps.

see www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk under their product review section

Geodesy plus and a Target LE850 "garage remote" fitted in between the slats.

I have a bel990 (2 yrs old) fitted in another vehicle with a geodesy cradle.

Sadly you can't get the LE850 any more, although you may be able to import its successor privately from the states. See lidatek.com

In the 2 gaps next to the number plate either side. The hard bit is to get the wires from them inside the car !!

All done and neat and tidy (2 small holes required thought

Have got the snooper s5 myself which is great. Getting a 920 jammer fitted next week to my colleagues 993 C4, will let you know how it looks.

PS. Just been for a good spin in said C4, goes well, not as quick as the 348, feels nice & solid though. Doesnt handle quite as well, sounds nice.

The 920 does look to very effective from the reviews I've read. I'd be very interested for anything additional when it's fitted. Who's doing the fitting?
Still not sure about things from a fixed camera perspective, seems there's split loyalties between a device that actually detects and a device that 'knows' where the cameras are.
Thanks to all for you advice, will probably go for the 920 and a road angel I think.
