MK1 Grill Original or Replacement
Discussion
New ones are available from TVR Parts : https://tvr-parts.com/tvr-parts/part-details/tvr-u...
The seal is also available from them: https://tvr-parts.com/tvr-parts/part-details/tvr-u...
I replaced mine with stainless mesh like you find on Jaguars then painted it Satin Black. The larger holes give better cooling. My old one is in the garage so pm me if you don't want to buy a new one
I got mine from here and there are lots to choose from: http://www.themeshcompany.com/products/Heavy-Duty-...

Fit the seal to the car first. It is held in a couple of places on the top row with 2 tiny self tapping screws (or was!), in the groove itself. Then fit the grille. I start at the bottom, sliding the mesh into one corner then pushing down as I go across to the other side. I use a small screwdriver to gently ease the seal over the mesh keeping pressure on it until the bottom is complete. Then I carry on easing the seal up one side and along the top to the join at the top centre. Once secure, I go back to the other side and go round until I meet the seal at the top centre. If the rubber seems out of shape or position you can gently ease it on to the mesh by very carefully levering the seal against the bodywork but you must use a cloth to protect the paintwork.
If the mesh is cut to the correct size, the sharp prongs will sit nicely in the groove in the seal and be a good tight fit.

Do you have another source where I might be able to get one of mesh grills you have on your Chimaera? I've had mine for about 4-5 months and my only issue is the insane heat it kicks up in heavy traffic / idle, I'm sure these scorching summers make it worse than what may be normal. The cabin gets absolutely sweltering!
Cheers!
