Hyundai Tuscon hidden performance gem ?

I , like many , browse the classifieds on this fine site with no particular purpose.

I normally start with a search for fast estates, so I am always surprised that when I chose under 7 second 0-60 and bodytype estate the Hyundai tuscon always appears.

according to the adverts these cars have a 0-60 of 5.4 seconds !

is this some special edition or ultimate sleeper I was unaware of ???

I used to have one of those (a 2005 model 2.0 litre diesel one) and can unreservedly confirm that you couldn't get it to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds. It was a pleasant, comfy thing, in a practical barge type of way, but no performance machine.

yes for weight distribution

You could get the mk1 Tucson with the 2.7 V6 as found in the Hyundai Coupe.

Performance was sprightly but not 5.4 to 60.

The extra weight of the new model must have dulled performance.

I've got one with a 1.7 diesel so performance should be similar to the old 2.0, but I think mine would struggle to get to 60 in 5.4s. I doubt it could even do it below 6s.

This Tucson has over 700bhp, still probably over 5.4 to 60.
