Hi All,

Just realised yesterday that my indicator isn't cancelling all the time. It only occurs with the left indicator, here are some scenarios:

- Put left indicator on turn left, hear the click as something catchs straighten up however indicator is still on - ISSUE.

- Put left indicator on turn left with double turn of steering wheel, hear click and straighten up. Indicator cancels and all Good - NO ISSUE.

Any issues ladies and gents?

Cheers

Sunil

The self cancelling mechanism has failed.

You'll need a stalk assembly/steering column switch assembly; if you don't have cruise control or an OBC treat it as an opportunity to retrofit - If you do have CC and or OBC bear in mind that the standard column switch is the same, the additional options 'bolt-on' so you only need to order the standard version (much much cheaper- just swap your original lower stalks wink )

Hi Pope,

Thanks for the reply, yes I've got cruise control and on board computer. I may give the DIY option a go.

Hi All,

Believe it or not it's working again, it seams that sometimes when changing lane and indicating it will not click back, however if turning in to a road or taking an exit on a roundabout it works.

To add with what Pope said, when I replaced mine, the assy WITH cruise was considerably cheaper than the non-cruise version.

£200 vs £300

The plastic becomes brittle and inevitably problems occur, but IIRC what I had was the indicator not holding, rather than not cancelling, I think that's a different issue.

Not a difficult DIY.

Sounds like your stalk assembly is on its way out, a common problem with 996's. Buy one and have it ready for when it fails completely.
