Hi all,

As I'm in the market for changing my car (looking for a 981 Cayman GTS), I've been keeping a keen eye on what's for sale and what the prices are doing. I was bored over the Easter weekend and decided to write a script to check what's for sale daily. I've now build a web interface to display some reports from my database and thought I'd share if anyone is interested.

I'm only looking at 911 (997), 911 (991), Boxster (981), Boxster (718), Cayman (981), Cayman (718) cars. I can add other models but I do not have personal interest in what the prices of macans and cayenne's are doing!

I only started collecting data on 14th April, so 'days for sale' so anything with '26 days', it's probably been there for longer.

Reports available are:
For sale today - http://porscheused.ddns.net/availabletoday
Newly listed today - http://porscheused.ddns.net/newlylistedtoday
Sold today - http://porscheused.ddns.net/soldtoday
Prices changed today (they do go up as well as down!) - http://porscheused.ddns.net/pricechange

It's hosted on a RaspberryPi in my living room, so I apologise in advance if you break it.

Happy to take feedback/enhancement suggestions. I'm probably going to end up putting it behind a login wall as I don't think the OPC's will be a fan!

great idea to get a good deal on cars which have not sold for 3 months and I mean a >£5k off deal not a token amount.

be interesting to see as I had my eye on a car or two, and OPC don't like cars over 3 months stuck !!!

Thanks, and that's the plan - a bit geeky, but get on the front foot with the dealer when the time is right smile

I was interested in a Cayman GTS about 4 weeks ago, and I offered £2K below advertised and they said no-chance. It's since been reduced by £3.5K, I'm still tempted, but it's so annoying how some dealers just do not negotiate enough.

That's quite interesting to read, just out of curiosity is there any reason why you are just looking at OPC or is it the way the software is geared?

I have more interest in buying from an OPC for peace of mind. I'm sure I could build something to look at other sites, but I'd rather invest my time in other things, like driving :-)

Does AutoTrader track price changes like this on OPC cars?

This is tremendous, thanks so much for sharing!

On the face of it, I can't see why there could be too many complaints about you collating data they make publicly available and sharing it with your mates.

Generally the more information there is available to the participants in a market the more efficiently it will operate, which ought to increase buyer and seller confidence, boost volumes etc. so this might even be something they should encourage?!

I particularly enjoyed the prices changed today sheet. I thought that 991 S at £150k reduced to £140k was a mistake until I clicked the link through to the locator. It's an endurance racing edition with 1k miles they've marked up from £107k new - might have further to fall yet?!?

Thanks again and I hope it helps you unearth the deal you want.

Login up already? Is there a way we can get access to it? You might be inundated with PMs!

Yeah, I've had second thoughts, probably not a great idea making it public!
