Hopefully the national news picks this and the other story from yesterday and makes this socially unacceptable behavior.

If someone on Twitter espouses cyclist hatred you can bet your ass they will be:

1/

Pouting female selfie-taker or

2/

Football fan.

It's the law.

.
Yes. It only made the papers cos the cyclist is famous. It happens frequently.

I'm very surprised he was out training on his own and not flanked by team mates or a team car especially this time of the year.

Maybe he was, easy to get dropped back at a junction or be out in front up a climb

Having said that its just up from Monaco where he lives, maybe a quick spin on his own?

very unusual in France as generally cycling/cyclists is well respected and often drivers go out of their way to give you enough room etc.

Probably a Quintana fan trying to eliminate the competition

Hope they catch them and charge them for the bike replacement, they won't be doing again in a hurry when they realise the bike is probably worth more than the car that they are driving

TBH given the driving standard in the 06 / 83 area that doesn't surprise me a bit.

But if Froome was riding defensively you'd see it as being ok wouldn't you?

Having cycled in France over the last 20 years, the level of aggression shown towards cyclists has risen dramatically. Yes, a lot of car driver do show courtesy, but things have changed a lot.

I'm used to East London drivers. Compared with them French drivers are a blessing.
