Hypocrisy
Who doesn't speed!?
Discussion
ok, living in the states, I can''t directly relate, but we have some pretty low limits here, and everyone breaks them by 10-15 mph. It''s assumed most of the time that if you get tickets you just aren''t careful, rather than being an unsafe driver. speed doesn''t kill, people kill. Everyone in my family has been in a silly accident except for me, but I am not insured to drive, while they are all roaming the roads, why? b/c I am a teenage male, and the insurance company, upon hearing of my cell-phone using little sister threatened to end my fam''s insurance policy unless I, the "greatest risk" was taken off the policy. The fact that I had 2 speeding tickets in 3 years only made it easier. Its ok, I suppose, I''m in college and I don''t have a car, but damn do I feel castrated....
I guess that's another illustration of life in the "land of the free" then ?
However, I can see the same thing happening here, bearing in mind the kind of settlements for 3rd party injury they have in the 'states. It's starting here, with the "no win, no fee" thing for accident claims. Don't get me wrong, if you have been hurt through no fault of your own, you are entitled to compensation, but this "try it on" attitude will just increase everyones insurance premium.
