Good evening,

I am a happy Bhoy...

Because I bought a 996 GT3 yesterday. It was an easy decision after a test drive. It was everything I hoped for.

However I am supposed to be trading in my 996 turbo manual. No I have doubts about letting the turbo go. I was could sell my Aston DB9 instead.

An Aston & GT3 or Turbo & GT3??? Arrrrgh!

Surely the TT does the daily driver very well & the GT3 is just, well a GT3!

What colour is it anyway, pics would help us decide better wink

The truth is that none of the 3 cars you own are likely to depreciate.

All are probably on the up curve by now.

If you have the garage space keep them all and take comfort in the fact every time you drive one of themdriving you will be a tiny bit better off!

Two is no problem as long as they are a little different from each other - we have a C4 tip cab and a Turbo manual coupe so either end of the spectrum so does work well.

May add more if funds permit and am toying with a front engined P this time...

Definitely keep both the GT3 and 996 Turbo. They are quite different in the thrills they offer. You wont need to search too hard to discover stories of people who've sold their 996 Turbos, only to regret it, then have to find more money to buy back a similar car.

I don't want to turn this into a value discussion, but both 996s you own are unlikely to depreciate..

Truly a case of first world problems haha, but a tough decision nonetheless. Do you use both the Turbo and the DB9 the same amount? and which is the one that you'd pick first for most instances of driving?

You may as well keep both. Better than money in the bank

They're definitely all appreciating. If you've got the room keeping them will earn you money when you know which you'd want to sell

The Aston is fantastic. I own a manual car which is very rare. The noise, looks and interior are very special. It is more a GT car than the TT.

The TT maybe have less character however I feel like I am driving a mini 959. The TT is faster, grips stronger and brakes better than the DB9.

A manual car is definitely one to hold on to as they are likely to appreciate faster. I wouldn't want to make the decision, they're different cars and have different uses. They're both strong investments too.

I do.....991.1 Targa 4 GTS (Manual) and a 996 GT3 RS......why wouldn't you.....I'd sell the Aston...your 911's are far enough apart to be a different drivng experience and both are special enough to be going up in value...so for me I'd be selling the Aston for sure....just not special enough for me even though 007 drives one

The OP throws my own ponderings into even further turmoil.

I had, for a while, toyed with the idea of upgrading (for want of a better word) from 996tt to 'some sort of 997 GT3'. The more I drive the turbo though, the more I appreciate it's usability, the way on the track, in the wet, the 4WD and PSM save me from my own stupidity, and, not least of all, the utterly intoxicating shove of the boost down somewhere like Dottinger Hohe.

Part of me is desperate to experience the NA sharpness of a GT3 and the more finely-honed chassis, but the other part likes the turbo comforts on occasion and the mind-warpingly rapid acceleration.

ETA - OP, congratulations on an excellent stable of motors!
