I had tickets for last night and had a look around with a glass or red.
Well, it's just not very big, and so struggles to have something for everyone. The £80,000 mini (classic) was interesting but just did not add up. MG was there but looks like everyone else's car now. If it can double in size then things will start to look up for the show.

I was also there, the lighting is terrible!

The MG looks like a Mazda CX-5 clone.

The Alpine and the Morgan EV3 were the only cars of interest for me

I went yesterday and felt it was more of a dealership show and tell than a Motor Show, but then it was only £16 a ticket. There was some interesting stuff there, just not much of it!
  • The Alpine looked truly great in the flesh. Well proportioned, felt like a good quality product and just looked amazing.
  • I loved the David Brown Mini - but there is no way on earth it was an £80k motor (plus donor vehicle with fuel injected engine), It was a top quality conversion, but it was still an old Mini finessed - albeit, very well.
  • Nice to see the E-Type Lightweight Continuity for real. A work of art.

Indeed. I had low expectations and they were just about met.

We went in around 1130 on Saturday and were done by 1400. There were still massive queues to get in as we left, so unless there were thousands of free tickets dished out then the organisers must have made a decent income and its shows there is a demand for a decent show.

We did wonder if the business model for the show was that the organisers paid the dealers to attend rather than them hiring a stand, as there seemed to be no attempt to take everyone's details if you showed any interest in a car (as per every previous motorshow).

There were massive queues for all the food trucks (I appreciate it was lunchtime) so we didn't bother and ate back in 'town'.

I'm not sure how much room there is for the show to expand into the rest of Battersea Park, the manufacturers manage to put on outdoor stands at events like the Goodwood FoS so it is certainly possible to have a mainly outdoor show - but then you are at the mercy of the weather.
