I'm a second-hand car veteran but a new car newbie.

After doing a bit of reading, it seems that a number of people recommend Coast2Coast as a means of figuring out the cost of a vehicle under different configurations.

Is there anywhere else I should be trying out, or anything else I should be doing, before taking the figure to a dealership?

Also: who are Coast2Coast and why are their figures always below the offers received from dealers via Carwow?

Check out drivethedeal and orangewheels. They are both similar to coast2coast but worth seeing the figures they all give.

What car are you looking to get?

Interesting. Drive the Deal came out a fair bit lower than Coast2Coast, though I seem to recall the latter adds a £360 admin fee onto the price.

I'm eyeing up the M240i, deliberating whether it's worth waiting until the LCI later in the year.

I would also have a chat with TRL on the babybmw forum. From what I hear he does some good deals too.

You could also try Carwow - works a bit differently in that you get offers from dealers (some local, some not) but might be worth a go.

Don't forget to try broadspeed.com, from previous experience Drive the deal were the cheapest when I purchased an e220 and they always seem to be the most competitive for Mercedes deals. If not have a look at comparing the best POP deal versus a lease

There are a number of brokers all with plus/minus points. Carwow not that cheap but have people fawning over you if that's your bag, Broadspeed always advertise cheap but don't always come through, Drive the deal a very solid company but not the best range. Find which suits you best- or use them all as a benchmark and negotiate yourself? Beating Carwow is easy, the others a bit more difficult but can be done.

Broke4cars 9/10 come up cheaper for the cars they will quote on. Has anyone used them before?
