Parents and pupils who attack teachers would face jail under Conservative plans being outlined to teachers.
Assaulting a teacher would be made a more serious crime, akin to assaulting a police officer, the Tories say.

Dunno about the "more serious" bit but it should certainly be something that makes parents and pupils think twice about before starting on a teacher!

I'll have to be honest and say I haven't, and I would be very impressed if I was way out on this
It just seems that we've heard it all before from all sides
He came to the Home Office with a new philosphy 'prison works'-which went against all the received 'wisdom' in the criminal justice system.
He brought in tougher sentencing and expanded the number of prison places and presided over a 17% drop in crime (I think, it was a subject covered recently and I think that was the number)
The attitude that all politicians are the same leads only to apathy.
