Seems like we're thin on the ground.

If there any other 996 GT2 owner on here, it'd be great to swap tips/stories etc.

Welcome to the Porsche board.

Haven't heard of any. A lot of people would like one but they don't exactly go for Rover Kensington money!

There are a couple of 996 turbo owners about. One guys got one chucking out 470bhp, there's also a 993 turbo owner with 490bhp.

How long have you had the GT2? happy with it? any funny stories, trackdays or trips?

Welcome GT2man.

Where are you in the country?

I saw a black GT2 a couple of weeks ago in South east Essex. Was it you?

Greetings, oh driver of Prussian perfection.

I was telling one of the PH guys (or was it a general post?) t'other day that I witnessed a GT2 in motion, for the first time (silver); a glorious sight of psychologically seismic impact, for sure.

Felicitations are due now that you are amongst us and may I ask my usual question of keepers d'exotica; have you terminalled the beast? And could you please provide a conscious stream of general thoughts/impressions.

Also, how do you react to the ubiquitous (media) charge that the 996 GT2 has been tamed somewhat? I think this is idle b*ll*ck talk but your views would be interesting.

And BTW, you have my warmest appreciation for driving something so fabulously powerful and pendulous.

Tremendous!

Well, I guess the car isn't the ninja hardcore homologation special that the 993 GT2 was, which is a good thing in my opinion.

As it stands, it has all the bits I want, RWD, lighter than a turbo, more power than a turbo, super brakes, cage, harnesses, extinguishers etc. But it also has the optional aircon + CD player fitted, which means it can be used as a daily car.

As for "tamed", it's a flippin' scary beast with all that power through the rear wheels (where all the weight is too). Tamed, no. More liveable, yes.

Would have been a better time had I not wheelspun like a fool.

I should be able to get the car along to an airfield day this Saturday (Elvington)

As I suspected; brutally fast but blessed with some tincture of civility. Sounds wonderful.

Any plans for exhaust/power upgrades? (Sorry.)

hehe.. no matter what you buy, people always ask if you're going to modify it !!

I'm reluctant to blow my warranty, so I have no plans as yet.. especially as all the good tuners are in Germany and not the UK.

And while there are many mods for the Turbo, I've not seen too many mods for the GT2.

Ouch!, I know of some very good UK tuners, that have been tuning GT2's in all of their forms. What do you mean by 'good'?
