...cue three days of people driving around with their front and rear fog lights on in fine weather. It wasn't even foggy this morning and people used their fog lights.

Hate to disagree, but when I came into the office it was very, very foggy. Still some tossers had no lights on at all.

I think cars should have a seperate switch for 'mist' lights, that only turns on the side lights - this is for people who can't tell the difference between a very light hazyness and a zero visibility pea souper
In my Porsche it won't let you turn on the rear fog lights unless you turn on the front ones - which you aren't going to do unless its really thick fog anyway.

I bought auto express today and was reading the true and false article and it mentioned foglights and the fact that if you drive in good weather with them on you can get fined , turn over a few pages to a road test both cars a bm and a merc with fogs on in clear weather ! what a load of fcukin tw@ts no wonder everyone drives with them on if they pick up this crud and read it every bloody car they test has them on
