Sub 135 Wheel bhp per tonne
Discussion
Out of interest, what do you think would be the quickest car with a wheel bhp per tonne below 135.
The reason I ask is a few friends and I are considering competing in time trials but sticking to the lower formula and a budget of just £3000. The car must keep its full interior and no rose joint suspension or engine swaps are allowed. Basically the car needs to be pretty standard with mild modifications allowed.
Are newer cars much better than older ones?
Turbo vs n/a
Light weight or more power?
Fwd, rwd, 4wd?

R5 GTT must be around that
Somehow I just don't see that being competitive against something much newer. I'd actually really like to run my 205 but it would be in the class above, and I wouldn't want to give it track abuse.Krikkit said:

Clio 172 would work.
They make about 167 BHP and weigh around 1,100 kg standard. Add in trans losses. Boom.
I'm sure you could strip it out and get someone to map it for limited peak power as well...They make about 167 BHP and weigh around 1,100 kg standard. Add in trans losses. Boom.
