Alternative to areo wheels?

Hey guys,

I'm finding fairly consistently that i'm not confident on my areo wheelset (Giant SLR0), I think it's just the crap weather we have here where it's always gusty but at speeds over 35mph I find the bike can get pretty nasty. This morning in probably only 10mph gusts I found then trying to kill me on a descent where I wimped out of at 37mph when they tried dragging me into oncoming traffic.

This afternoon's ride in 20mph gusts wasn't any better, but I wasn't descending anything quickly.

I'm assuming it's a problem for all deep section wheels, like having those stupid disc wheels when you were a kid?

So, what's a nice lightweight alternative? I like the speed they carry, don't like how crashy they are across anything other than perfect tarmac (Feel like I spend more time bunny hopping than pedalling).

Aero wheels are always worse in crosswinds, just a fact of life.

It depends on how deep your current rims are and how much of an improvement you want in crosswinds versus the aero benefits?

Just throw a cheap shallow front on, the deep section rear actually improves your stability as it moves the centre of pressure backwards away from the steering axis.

I think those Giant wheels have a carbon braketrack so you´ll need to swap out the brake pads too. No biggie.
