Car needed for dog...

Got a german shepherd and need a car to ferry him to the park and back - currently use my other half's car (hatchback) but he likes to go for a swim so makes it's a PITA to clean afterwards before handing the car back !!!

Need something that is cheap to tax, insurance and is reliable - budget up to £1k as it is for this purpose only

Was thinking Peugeot 307 SW 2.0 TDI ? What do you reckon?

There was a Peugeot 205 XD on autopoo for £250. Back seats down, bomb proof wagon that you wouldnt even need to bother locking, let alone cleaning the insides...
