The TV expired last night 
- I had been thinking about getting some new stuff anyway 
Any contacts on here, Surrey/South London???
Looking for complete system (42") with DVD and Sky+.
Don't wish to go "professional" or anything, and there are some reasonably priced stuff in the major retailers, but there is a wealth of info available on here so I'd thought I'd ask!!

Yup, Matt pointed me at this lot a couple of weeks back, ended up with a lovely Sony, identical to my BiL's, just £200 cheaper than he paid 6-8 months ago

Are you saying you've only got one TV? I can't imagine what life must be like in such a scenario. We've dozens of the things in every room!
Plus, we've got a top-notch projector, sound system and screen - bordering on home cinema. Now that, I highly recommend.

It's not that hard to interpret if you really, really try Bodo - I wouldn't call it a Mensa puzzle
Firstly, it's unusual for a house to have just one TV - we have several (not dozens in every room - it wasn't meant to be taken literally). Secondly, I was suggesting to the original poster that he may want to consider a decent projector as an alternative to buying a widescreen TV. I hope I've clarified my position. Srebbe, I was asking because I don't own a TV-set, and haven't watched TV for eleven years. I had a TV before, but noticed that I hadn't touched it for several months, when a guest asked me about the program number for a particular station; so I decided to ditch it when I moved house.
Only downside so far is, that I have difficulties to build up conversations with people that expect certain TV-series to be a common topic. Maybe I'll have gaps in consumer-attitude and society-values in a few decades
