Childs play for Jacques...
Discussion
Canadian has-been, Jacques Villeneuve is hoping to get up to speed for Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix with the help of a Formula One video game. The 1997 World Champion and computer geek, missed the inaugural race at Bahrain's Sakhir circuit last year after being sacked by BAR at the end of 2003. Now tooling around for Sauber, JV is hoping the game will make him slightly less hopeless than usual. "I haven't seen the circuit but I know that it's dry, sunny and sandy’ he said, with amazing insight. "I am going to play with an F1 video game that includes this track to get used to the layout, but I will really have to find out when I get there."
Rumours that Sauber are considering asking Villenueve to complete the rest of the season on a Playstation at home are believed to be premature.

Sad but true, JV is not the first ex-champ to go on past his sell by date, I hope he quits before he tarnishes his reputation further or something worse happens as he struggles with the Sauber..

Talking of Hakkinen in the DTM, does anybody know if Motors TV are showing the series this year ? I hope so, as I think ITV are upping their BTCC coverage and Eurosport will be showing all CART races live so it could be a good year for armchair viewing. Mind you, Eurosport have been prone in the past to treating the schedules as a bit of a moveable feast and will chop programmes to fit around a Ghana under 21 soccer game..
