In my thread where I asked this :

I have just logged on this evening and found all my bookmarks have gone.

I am logged in on my iPhone and seem to be forced to use the mobile version of the site now. I are the two things related?
I got this response :

Do I take it then that the answer to my question was "Yes the two things are related"

I appreciate you are getting some flack over the recent changes and consequently thought it better to ask the question rather than jump to a conclusion and potentially be just another one of the irrational torch wielding masses looking to blame everything on the new skin.

A simple courteous answer didn't seem like much to ask.

Bookmarks are still there - I'll look in my phone and see if I can do a screenshot

And yes we are all forced to use GTI mobile version on small phones - larger phones and laptops and PC's get to use the desktop version

Hi Hunky Dory,

The option to switch to desktop mode on your phone has been removed.

You should be able to see your bookmarks still; I've taken a look at your profile and they are all still there. If this issue is repeatable then please let us know what device and browser you're using and we'll look in to it.

Thanks,
Dom

Can I ask why? I have always used the desktop version on my phone because I prefer the look and usability of it.
I simply won't bother if there is only the option to use the mobile version.

Same question from me to PH techs. Always used desktop option on my iPhone and much preferred it. I have tried but recent changes mean the mobile version is, for me, unusable.

Thanks for the reply Dom.

I've tried and you're correct they are still there, it just seems that the loading time (or time to display the page?) via the mobile site is much longer than it was previously when viewing desktop site via a mobile.

I just tried it and it took 1min 50secs secs to load the bookmark page on my mobile via the mobile site, whereas previously via desktop site on the same phone it took around 5 secs (best guess from memory).

Seems that it was my impatience that was the issue as suggested by someone on my original thread, but it does seem odd that a page is immediately displayed showing "None Found" which if you leave it long enough is then replaced by the bookmarks list.

Now I understand it is linked to the "new skin issues" I'll post the same in the common thread as well.

Currently using an iPhone 6s using iOS

ETA - Dom. When you accessed my bookmarks, how long did it take to display them?

I have just tried via desktop three times and got display times ranging from 1min to 6mins 10 secs....!

From a poke about with the chrome debugger it seems database performance is a little wanting... The problem is that the page defaults to "nothing found" before the query is done, so if it takes more than a second it looks a bit weird when it changes. Fine if you have a super-fast database returning results of course.
