It's not the dress that really bothers me, especially in the context of 10,000s of years. It's the lack off lineage. I mean, so they find some guy and go hey you're gonna be the Pope! Great, under what authority and according to what credentials?
At least the Buddhists have proven methods of tracking their peer heads from one life to the next.
Don't know nuffink about no bunker mate

I think there's some requirement for candidates to have a proven track record of 'giving a sh!t'. In the case of JPII, he saved a few people from the Nazis.

Saw a TV prog on Discovery the other day analysing the History behind certain books of the Bible.
Only caught Exodus and the one about the Garden of Eden (scuse my ignorance - forget which one that was).
However, seems that Exodus isn't all that far fetched. Apparently there was a monster volcano that let go in the Meditaranian about that time - sposed to be 1000s times bigger than anything we've had since.
They reckon that this caused a hoooge tidal way that caused the 'Red Sea' to part allowing Moses his grand escape. They've even found pummis (sp) stone in the areas around the Nile delta that came from this erruption.
Interestingly seems that they were no where near the Red Sea - hence my '' above, a closer look at the translation would indicate that they crossed the Reed Sea, one of the larger lakes in the Nile Delta.
Moving on, they then went off to find mount Sinai, only to discover that it's unlikely that they actually went to Sinai, instead they found some other mountain (can't remember the name - wasn't paying a whole load of attention). But this other mountain fits the picture much more closely than Sinai. Apparently it has a whole load of small temples and places of worship around it and lo and behold didn't they find a stone age inscription on a rock up there that looks like two stone tablets laid side by side. Needless to say, in the picture the tablets where divided into 10 segments.

The strange thing is that the story of Noah may be true as well.
One of the things the yanks spotted from space in the 60s was a boat shape outline. A team in the 90s managed to get permission to go to the site with a ground radar and found a v shape structure going into the ground, much like the hull of a boat.
In the surrounding areas are great huge bits of wood that could of been a platform.
It was on TV back in the 90s and there were several articles at the time. My father pointed out - the structure in the ground is probably the top of the boat - and the huge bits of wood are probably the bottom of the boat - and the boat was actually a raft.
Anyway, pure speculation as the Turkish authorities haven't let anyone go near the site again.
