Wire Coathangers

Making hooks for hanging tools on
Holding small components while you spray them
Making paint stirrers for your drill chuck
Temporary repairs to broken components
Training and supporting plants and shrubs
Fishing stuff out of drains and from under floorboards
Making 'Blue Peter' projects

Oh, I nearly forgot,hanging clothes on.

These are some of the many uses to which these versatile objects can be put. However they appear now to be an endangered species and are becoming increasingly hard to come by.
There was a time when the used to breed in your wardrobe, but not anymore. Shops Market stalls and even the dry cleaners have now switched to useless plastic hangers.

What's happened to good old wire hangers, have they now died out, slain by the Health and Safety Fairy, or is someone out there hoarding them all?.

I've seen many used as replacement car aerials

I have 2 bits bent to shape which I use for removing DIN car stereos (my own, I hasten to add!)

combined with a magnet (if proper steel wire and not some rubbishy tin alloy) can be used as a "magnetic doo-dah-picker-upper" when you drop things in tight spaces... (I'm too stingy to buy a proper telescopic one)

I have various bits bent to shape and nailed to the insides of my shed for hanging pressure washer accessories and electrical extension cable on...

push through breather hoses with a bit of cloth attached to clean out any gloop...

the possibilities are endless.

and I have millions! mwahahahah!

yeah metal coathangers are great for everything apart from hanging clothes, they bend outta shape far too easy

Sparky, I think you forgot the number one alternative use for wire coat hangers, which is using them to break into your car after you've locked the keys in it!
