Removing gold cap from case
Discussion
I've searched on here to find recommendations on Watch Guy (Christian) and Watch Doctors in Tring.
I have a 1960 Omega Seamaster that needs servicing but the tricky bit is finding somewhere willing to polish away the gold cap on a stainless steel case. Appreciating there will be some on here who will condemn the idea, it's been bothering me for a long time and also the watch's original specs suggest a stainless steel case but no mention of a gold cap, so in some senses removing the cap would return the watch to its original state.
Christian says there is a 3 month wait whilst he outsources it elsewhere and Watch Doctors don't offer the service.
Any reliable places PHers are aware of that can do this?
Thanks
