Noticed some problems accessing the configurator this morning so entered my porsche code and the following came up

Some chat about this already over on the boxster/cayman forum

My 991.2 C2 order has increased by around £1450 - about 1.7% of the total

That's pretty much the increase in the base price, increase in options offset by the new 'standard' heated seats and floor mats ffs!

Deposit down a couple of weeks ago so was anticipating this - not as bad as I feared given the devaluation of the pound but still leaves a bad taste

Interestingly the C2S I'd configured as an alternative has gone up by roughly the same absolute cost, so relatively smaller increase - which now makes the S seem a better deal

So either you can't have seat heating or floor mats ,or they are now standard fit?

1.7% is a tiny increase compared to Sterlings fall over the past 12-18 months.

And a tiny increase relative to the increases already announced by some other 'premium' brands (Apple/Sonos/Rolex, for example, have all announced big double digit price rises).

Floor mats and heated seats now standard, and possibly the electronic log book at this option has disappeared (wasn't in my configuration)

Sports exhaust now available in black

Agreed that compared with other brands these increases aren't much, just a little irritant after placing a deposit, that's all

If you have confirmed order and awaiting delivery do these price increases get applied?

Surely not? We contracted to buy the car at a certain price?

Nope. The contract almost certainly says that you commit to paying the equivalent price at the point of collection, with the price on the contract being indicative based on then current list prices. Maybe some additional qualifications about how they have to justify price changes, e.g. FX risk.

It's always the price at delivery you pay, not at order.

Week 22 production is the cut off point for the price rises.

I'm keen to know what effect the new prices have on my GTS, the only car on the 911 configurator is the GT3. I can load my saved configurations in view mode only - no changes allowed. Suppose I will have to wait until the web site is updated before I can find out.

i was able to load an old config into the new model year yesterday for GTS. what i recall is base price +£1,500. options like pdk, pdcc ~+£100, other options +£60 to +£10. seat heating becomes standard.
overall the changes represented ~1.6% increase.
and the higher price is supposed to apply to builds from July onwards.

I had the same problem with my upcoming GTS...easy solution was to upload a 991GT3 on the configurater and immediately click the top left hand (models) tab and change to 991 gts which will give you the new price and options....eg PDLS in black and heated seats are now standard....

My C2 is due for delivery at the end of April and I haven't been contacted about any increase in cost. I'd presume they would at least drop me a courtesy email if they were going to charge more?

Your car should escape the increase from what I have been told.

Thanks Cheib. I would have thought so also having already finalised the spec etc.

My C2 GTS is due at the end of this month so I am assuming I will pay what it said in the Order Form.

Some manufacturers offer price protection.
