997 GT3 RS 4.0. Sold.

In the overall scheme of things the 997 GT3 RS 4.0 is an honest contender of a premium priced car. It's a great car to start with. It was sold out before it was announced. It was not made as a marketing plot or by retro engineering stuff just in order to raise desirability. It was made on the basis of improving an already great car trying to hone everything little detail to perfection. The last of the Mezger engined cars, the last of a truly envolving car. Limited to 600 world wide. It is only about time that people start seeing the true value of this icon. There were more 2.7, CGTs and R build than 4.0 so it is not that remarkable that it is hitting the big numbers.

Too valuable to use or actually relatively good value for an RS?!

It's a huge price to pay for sure but having been lucky enough to drive one in anger around a track I have to say it's the most intoxicating car I have ever been in and it would certainly be my choice of the whole RS range.
The engine is simply stunning in all sensations (vocally, feel, freedom to rev) and in my view makes the current 4.0 in the Rs feel tame.
As people have mentioned when you count only 600 world wide, the last of the engine breed and no doubt it will continue to rise so it's probably a fairly safe investment. It's just such a shame that it will be an investment and won't get driven.

Its unusable because the key to its value it that it has little more than delivery mileage. Someone who wanted to use it would pick up one with a few thousand miles on it I would think Or if he just wanted a new 4.0RS to use, good chap.
Its not quite the same as ordering one new though because the buyer could not spec it. I love the experience of sitting down and speccing a new RS , and factory pick up . Makes it feel more special. On my last RS pickup I had Dr Wolfgang Porsche autograph the car which was delightful.
