Porsche as Daily Driver - Who does?

Just sold C2 manual, waiting on my C4 tiptronic now.Ive put ~30,000 miles on my 2002 996 turbo since buying it 3.5 years ago. One of the reasons they are such good cars, i cant imagine using a ferrari every day without it needed serving every month (it would sound better than the dyson tho). Also i need back seats for kids so limits the choice of cars. Not many 4 seater sports cars, and non at this price range.

My Ferrari is a daily (only car) and I did probably about 25k km in 18 months - snow (winter tyres)/rain/city driving/dog carrier etc. - it does need servicing every 12 months though ....My 996.1 C2 been either mine or my wifes daily for the last 10 years... over 105k miles in that time, and now sits on 162k.
When my wife moved to Miami wwith work, I dumped my 2ndd car and the 996 is now my only car... carries my golf clubs & trolley, fishing gear, weekly shop etc etc etc.

Exactly! Surely that is where these cars excel? The one high end sports car that you can use daily with little compromise.
My previous car was an Aston V8 Vantage that was use daily, but my 996 worth half as much is only used ~3 days a week. I would have no issues driving it daily though!hunter 66 said:

I can get my small golf bag in the back of my 996 with the seats down, but how do you get a trolley in too?! Passenger footwell, folded up? Mine's a C4 but I didn't think there was that much extra load space in a C2?JS1500 said:

I'm 6ft 3 and I'm a 'large lad'. I weigh 18 stone and I fit very comforably in my Cayman S (981) with Sports Seats Plus. I was pleasently surprised when I first sat in it: I thought it would be exceptionally cramped in there, but its actually quite a nice sitting position even for a person of my size.
What has really surprised me - only slightly short of shocked - is that its brilliant even for longer journeys. I can safely say that its more comfortable than the sports seats that I had in my 2013 Mercedes E350 CDI coupe "AMG Sport". Just a month ago (before I bought my car) I would have thought I'd lost my marbels if I ever said that my seats in my Porsche are more comfortable than the ones that I had in my Mercedes, but its true.
I haven't experienced the non-plus version of Porsche's sports seats though so I can't comment on them (although they do look mostly the same).
