For a Japcar they are the greatest, closest thing to a Ferrari mainstream Japan has ever gotten, but then again it's still a long way off (though I've never drive a dancing donkey to compare) They're not all that quick in a straight line, or even really point-to-point, but what they do have is oodles of feedback and feel to them, they're a drivers car for sure, something which Japan makes VERY VERY few of.
It's pretty much a slot-car to drive, i.e. It definitely goes where you want it to and tracks pretty straight although the one I drive was only short period, and i was taking it easy. I'd be going for something else for the money, but that's just me. An NSX IS however probably the ONLY japanese car I would ever consider buying though.... so read from that what you will.

I read the thread with great interest. Seems like a decent car for the money and a little bit different. Fuel consumption and reliability are good. But this statement worries me:
"but if something does go, then it costs"
Are we talking BMW/Porsche type costs or Ferrari/Lambo type costs if you know what I mean

I saw that Frankel article. He obviously likes the car, but then again most of the article was like "me and my mate ayrton.."
I'd be interested in anyone's experience who's run one of these as a daily car. I run my v8 esprit as my only car. I love it, but it costs a stack of money in maintenance. I can't think of ANYTHING i would enjoy as much... if the nsx gave me 95% of the fun for 50% of the costs it'd be worth looking at!

Thats exactly what I want a "affordable" super car. The more I read about the NSX the more appealing it becomes. If someone could post a link to that article (or scan the article) it would be appreciated.
The only downside to the NSX is the Honda badge but I can live with that. I want to enter the supercar league and I think the NSX could be a good car to start on.

quote:A mate of mine in US who had one for a few years reckoned that a fairly common mod was to supercharge it. His was a pretty quick car, although he wouldn't let me drive it with the traction control off (the light seemed to come on quite often )
What can you do to an NSX in order to get more ooomph out of them? Anyone know?
I had a great time driving it through the hills of Santa Barbara
