2017 BMW F25 X3 3.0d M Sport

I'd like to share my new purchase with you, but before I do I'll give a brief run down of my recent car history.
2013 BMW F30 328i M Sport 245ps Auto. This was a great car and an excellent all rounder. Efficient and comfortable on long journeys but also enough pace to have fun, good handling and weight distribution. Returned to BMW after a 3 year PCP; looking back, I should have kept it
After the 3 series, I thought I'd have a go at running something older but still comfortable, and without the monthly cost of a PCP or lease. Purchased this 2004 E60 530i SE for not a lot of money. Expected to have a few jobs to do on it, but they just kept coming, to the point that I got fed up of it and decided to cut my losses. In fact, I did loose money on this car. I also couldn't gel with the older generation technology, it felt like a big step backwards, both in terms of the info-tainment etc, but also the previous generation 6 speed zf gearbox is clunky coming from the zf8, and fuel consumption less than favourable

Advanced parking package
Panoramic glass sun roof
Exterior folding mirrors
Lumbar support

Very pleased with it so far. I choose an X3 as I wanted something different.. The current 2, 3, 4 and 5 series cars are all great but fairly similar to the F30 that I had. I wasn't paticularly looking for an "SUV" but when I drove the X3 I enjoyed the higher driving position and the feel of the car.
The panormaic sun roof is great and brightens the space consideably. The car feels well put together and the cabin is very comfortable. I'm enjoying the up to date Pro Nav, my F30 only had Business Media and this is a good step up
The engine feels strong, although I am running in it for a while, so havnt given it much gas yet. You can however notice it is a diesel, having some from a straight 6 naturally aspirted petrol
I have only done around 60 miles so far but will add more details as I go

I have spent a few more days with the car now and I'm still really very pleased with it. The handling is surprisingly car like, and even with the m sport suspension deleted body roll is minimal during harder turning. I guess it benefits from using the F30 platform.
This is my first time driving an x-drive, traction and grip seems very good. It inspires confidence to pull out quickly onto a roundabout or junction when needed, where previous cars may have struggled for grip
After reading around a little I have come to the conclusion that the engine doesn't really need to be run in. Provided it's upto temperature I have been giving it a bit of poke. The car pulls well and as expected sport mode transforms it
I'm averaging 28mpg, mainly around town and the short 6 mile trip to work, but have been up in the 40's on a longer run. I'm happy with this after 22mpg in the E60
The power tail gate is handy, I didn't see it as a necessity but am now converted
We're away next weekend with a 500 mile round trip so that will be a good test run

Very nice indeed, excellent spec.
I got my X3 30d last year and I've been really pleased with it. I've covered 13k miles in it now and the engine/gearbox combination still impresses me. The xDrive system also provides excellent traction, it gets off the line very swiftly in just about all weather.
