My girlfriend's got an MX-5. She emailed Mazda to say how much she hates the zum-zum sh*te. Plus they were using images of kids to advertise a two-seater sports car. Why??? Doesn't buying a two-seater sports car mean kids aren't exactly high on your list of priorities?

And what's with this new "zoom zoom, we make a sports car, so you'll definately want to buy a saloon from us" ad?

But, it's not as annoying as the Citroen advert with the moron "squeeling" through the bends. Makes me want to scream when I see it . In fact, just thinking about it brings on the jitters.
Anyway, if pretending to squeel though a series of s bends isn't indicative of speed lust, what is?

And how about the new Focus ad, telling us all how safe the car is by showing one doing a handbrake turn in the sand. It's in slow motion, though, so I guess it's not promoting speed.

Dare I mention that bloody Fiesta advert about "get out more" - as if getting a Fiesta will instantly give you friends and a social life!!! Well thats the meaning of the advert anyway..... sounds like a trip to the ASA for this one too. Bloody anoying too.

Cheers,

Paul

P.S. Hate that Zoom Zoom advert. What are we morons?

Or the Vauxhall Corsa ad where a group of Corsas play hide and seek. One hides in an elevator, while another jumps into a skip full of rubbish. Good 'un Vauxhall!

I like the merc ads:

'it's got lights so you can drive in the dark'
'goes down streets'

There's some graffiti on a Ford Focus poster near us - the one that says 'get out more'. In big red scrawl after the slogan it says WALK

Continuing the vein - The Toyota ads seem to be encouraging people to lean against, place children on, and generally damage other people's cars. Surely a case for complaints to the ASA there?

Can't beat a Punto ad, though. Pity the cars are w4nk.

How do you reckon TVR would/should make a TV ad?

There are 2 intensely irritating car ads on the radio at the moment:

1) The Ford Mondeo one that consists of 2 blokes alternately saying "safe"..."good-looking"..."safe"..."good-looking" etc etc ad nauseam. Ha - couldn't exactly use these adjectives to describe the Explorer and the Scorpio, could you???

2) The Fiat one that says that the current price of the Stilo is the lowest since 1992, and then plays a long clip of Timmy Bloody Mallett. But (a) the Stilo wasn't available then, and (b) are they saying they've been overpricing their cars for 10 years??
