I am currently looking at buying a Seat Leon FR 184 Diesel, around 3 year old costing around 10-12k. with about 30k less miles. Currently drive around 18k a year, With windy roads and no motorway driving.

I got myself thinking the other day, maybe I should get a Petrol car instead. Only looking for a hatchback or similar sized car.

So what cars would you recommend that is as quick, and similar age/miles. would only want to spend about 8k

Don't know what size car you need or whether it needs to be 5 doors or not. However, if you can drop a car size then there is very little that will be more fun on winding roads than a Clio 200.

Example of what is available at top of your budget of £8k can be found here - http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2017...

You might even get a Renaultsport Megane 250 for the budget (just) albeit it will probably be higher mileage.

1) Megane RS250 Great Car for A/B Roads but you'll have to haggle to get one for 8k

2) Focus ST-3 very good cars not as sharp as the Megane but a very good all rounder with a cracking engine, this is the one I chose.

3) Clio RS200 Cup, Smaller but no less fun in fact it might even be the reverse.

There really isn't a wrong answer if you want a hot hatch.
