Automated Phone Lines
Discussion
We have one at our office, however, I insisted that when they installed it, the first line after the "greating" is:
"If you would like to speak to an operator, press 0"
That way, people that know extensions can get right through and people that do not get our lovely receptionist on the phone...

The one that drives me nuts is when you phone up a certain telecoms company on your home phone and the automatic message asks you to press your phone number so your details get brought up and when you finally get through to someone the first question they ask you is 'What's your phone number' Aaaarrrrgghhhh

Don't say anything, don't press any buttons. The system assumes you've got an ancient phone and puts you through to a human being.
In India.
