I know you guys hate noobs so first things first, I'm jamie from walsall(it smells)

I'm 28 recently single, have two units decent size so I wanna slowly strip/build/whatever it takes to make the ideal "beginner race car/machine"

Do I first need to select what kinda racing I'm gonna go into? I like the idea of standard track racing, like go karting but obviously in cars with maybe quite basic classes to keep costs down..

Then what car?

I prefer grip, handling and zippy power rather than crap myself 400bhp monsters, maybe we can get to that one day though ha

Budget?

I literally just wanna stArt cheap as chips, max budget 250, I know I know, but it's only all gonna get changed anyway ideally just a basic engine to get to grips with handling and learning to race?

Some work I will do myself, some my father, some I will pay for I have 5 places located within a mile that can work on a motor for me, plus a decent 4-5 mates always willing to lend me a hand.

I'd like to keep this thread going, I love seeing progress and taking photos and giving detailed updates with guides as well smile share this on other forums too, input is vital in this and I have no wife to hold me back now lmao!

I will answer any questions, listen to any good advice and maybe even see u all some point when the suns out biggrin

Hope you can all help a newbie that means business biggrin

I'd start with the MG ZR/ZS they're cheap to buy/maintain, there are lots of performance parts available but I'd up you budget so you can get a bigger engine the 1.4 really won't cut it after a while.
