Porsche 928 replacement in-car speakers

Has anyone replaced their standard manufacturers speakers in a Porsche 928? I understand speakers in the rear can not be easily changed out because of the mounting depth etc and so wondered if anyone had found any workable replacements that can fit into the spaces? Any pointers on anything re. In-car sound for a 928 would be welcome. Including any recommendations on head units that look retro but offer modern performance e.g bluethtooth etc. many thanks : )
A few years ago there was a good write up on the 928 Pelican forum as I was thinking about doing the same thing. 4 or 5 years ago now.
Various options from what I remember and although USA based I'm sure the speakers chosen would be available in the UK. It may be out of date now with those speakers being updated, but it may help point you in the right direction.
Or just remove the rear silencer for a sweeter sound!
