Mapping a 996

I hear Wayne at chip wizards is the man for all things air-cooled, but for a NA 996 early cable throttle car, who is the default mapper in the UK. Also a ball-park price for a remap?
I have just had a quote from a company in Germany and it is around 4 times the price of what I remember for what I use to pay in the UK. What is the preferred method nowadays, all dyno or live mapping on the road?
It should be a fairly simple tweak to the existing map (no silly cams or the like). I just want to optimise the car with the Exhaust, filter, enlarged Throttle, LWFW...

Don't know about default mapper but my previous 2000 986 was half day dyno mapped by Motorsport Developments near Blackpool. It had manifolds, exhaust, Bigger throttle body and intake. £350 in 2013ish.

I would've thought Wayne would still be the go to. Certainly he had a good reputation with early GT3 cable throttle cars.

Try Wayne, he's not just Bosch air cooled
Motec on mine but he's very good

I & a few other GT3 owners I know have used Anthony at ADE Tuning with very good results 01254 676899 / http://adetuning.co.uk/

He used a combination of rolling road & live mapping on mine.

As others say, he's not just expert on the air-cooled models. He re-mapped my 996 turbo. It'd been previously done (badly) before I bought the car, which was sold as 'standard' (that's another story) and he re-did the map. I'm extremely happy with his work.

Did VGS try and pull your pants down? For all things Motronic it is either him or Wayne. He did your car, he does the Manthey cars - all the way to 997GT2, so why experiment?

Are there decent gains to be had on NA 911s?

I used DMS on my 996 Carrera. Small increase in bhp, noticeable increase in torque. Response was sharper, acceleration in 3rd quicker.

Hi Cheburator, I haven't tried VGS yet, I contacted another company and they quoted 2k for a remap, which I thought was taking the p155. I'll give Viktor a call at some point to see how he stacks up

Thanks for all the advise guys, I just wanted to see what options there are before I have the car ready to be mapped around April time.
