Thought I'd post something up, not necessarily to get feedback, but more of a whine and to hopefully avoid others doing the same!

Due to the PH name and shame rules I'll keep this as vague as I can, but it wont take the detective skills of Poirot to find out who I'm on about.

Two weeks ago I called a certain dealer who was advertising a used Roush mustang on PH, I like light blue cars and my budget is upto £30k (I'll leave you to do the detective work)

Anyway, I live way over in deepest darkest Somerset and the dealer is way over the other side of the country near the east coast, a 4 hour drive which lets be honest, if its a car you're after, you wont mind driving to. We arrive shortly after 1pm and wait for the owner to turn up and open his unit to which I must admit had a very impressive array of American muscle inside. He moves a couple of cars and brings the said Roush to the front. Its very pretty in the flesh and actually I'm very interested. We all have a look and chat about the car etc. Then I said "shall we go for a spin then" to which he responded "No, I don't do demonstrators, besides its just been cleaned and if you go out in it, I'll have to get it cleaned again!" I stood there flabbergasted, I appreciate places like this must be inundated with joyriders wanting to have a blat in the unaffordable, but we had just driven for 4 hours, which he knew, I'd been in touch several times after details and images etc and when it comes to actually trying the said car, we couldn't, he didn't even offer a passenger ride with him driving, he just wasn't interested.
Needless to say, we walked straight back out and drove the 4 hours home.
So, the moral of the story is if you're interested in a particular car being sold by a dealer in the East that specialises in American cars, don't expect to be able to actually see the car working first.

On that note, I am after an imported mustang, something out of the ordinary, supercharged or BOSS etc. I have a budget of upto £30k. If you hear of anything, drop me a PM. Cheers Benn

Have you looked on eBay and Autotrader?
There is a couple of supercharged V8's on there, are you wanting auto or manual and any specific colour?

Ah yes apologies, very light on requirements there wasn't I!
I'm after a manual, must be V8, not obsessed with mileage or year as long as it's been looked after, but I'm a magpie for the unusual, love the Elenor body kits and anything out of the ordinary.
I have autotrader alerts set up and scan eBay every other day, I've been looking since November last year but not made a big thing of it. There is a Boss on autotrader, but there's no response on the number and it does appear a bit too good to be true for the price so I'm dubious that it's a real add.
Was a real pity about the roush as I'd had probably had it, but just can't be doing with being treated that way.

Agreed, that advert isn't a Boss, just a GT. Boss' very rarely come up for sale, but I would expect the price to be about £10k more than this GT.

Oh right, so that isn't a real Boss?!
I need to get my head back in the books.
Blinking mustang variants how on earth does anyone keep up?

Where in Somerset are you?
There are plenty of groups on the interweb and on facebook to join up and ask, they often have or know of cars for sale that don't get advertised on mainstream sites.

Yep I've just registered on the MOUK so will post up in there after making introductions.
I'm based in-between Taunton and Yeovil so not a million miles from Bristol where I believe there's a big Mustang following.
Guess I'll just get stuck in and see what may.
Cheers Benn

I did when I had my Cerbera but haven't been recently, that's not to say I can't as it's about 20mins away from me. I should pop down to the next one.

Mine is a mint silver supercharged manual 2005 GT, pretty much a time capsule, as new car that I will be selling later in the year when the weather gets good enough. I need to get it fettled first though.

Amazingly, it was briefly for sale at least 5 years ago, albeit not for long. Now I have a mortgage shortfall and a greater desire to retire than have a Mustang. smile
