Just bought this to keep the TR3a company in the garage.

The TR3a is a 'concours' car and only gets used on sunny days, so needed something for those days when it's nice to get out and not worry if it rains!

Always wanted a 'SL' and this one fits the bill perfectly, especially with its Panorama roof.

Bloody gorgeous! I assume it's the cream of the crop and wants for nothing having come from the SL Shop?

Yes, you are right and having looked at a lot of cars, I decided it was worth paying 'top money' for a 'top car'.

By the time I added up the amount of money that I would have needed to spend to get the other cars 'up to spec' it was definitely worth getting it from the 'SL Shop' and also having the peace of mind of a 2 year warranty.

Their cars are superbly prepared!

Wow, there was a time when prices of 129s bottomed out, they've sure come back with a vengeance! I can't believe there are some R107s advertised for nearly £60k, as much as I love the old-old SLs I find it hard to believe they actually command this sort of money, they are iconic of their time but are no drivers' cars, whereas I can see how a Porsche 911 of similar vintage can justify their price tag nowadays.

That said, I think Merc got it so right back then. YouTube Harry Metcalfe's SL600, it's a superb video and extols the virtues of the R129 so well.
