G,day mate Glad you have made the switch!! Cos wearing the Lion is one to be proud of and you will get the big thumbs up from MR HOLDEN himself EHROB!!hehe what the guys do over here in Adelaide is take a very flexible stanley knife blade and cut it off VERY CAREFULLY do not attempt to lever off with other tools cos its part of the steering wheel rubber cutting it off is the only way!! order the bagde from city holden here in Adelaide click here www.cityholden.com.au/ what they all do here is replace it with a HSV badge to give it that extra special flavour inside!! You can order all your HSV bits from City Holden as the guys over here find them really good and they are the main HSV dealer here in South Australia all the best HOLDEN DRIVE ON Skippy Adelaide

"hrthsvholdenuk" can you get a part number for the badge, as the parts list only shows the air bag as a complete item including the badge!!!!

the air bag costs about £200..................

Yep I have to agree with ukhsv here. You have to purchase the complete airbag to change it over. I have a Chev airbag on my Holden!
No dis-respect to skippy....but I don't think I would go near the airbag with a knife.
Just for info the Part number for the Holden airbag is 92117620. I do have a price here in AUD$ and 200pounds sounds reasonable. (pure coincidence as someone asked me about one in my posession!)

Be aware, that from an insurance point of view, this could cause serious potential problems.
If someone was hurt or worse in an accident due to the Airbag not deploying correctly, the insurer and/or Vauxhall could shun responsibility, if it was found that the Airbag had been tampered with.
Strictly speaking, you should inform your insurance co. & if you were going to change the whole bag, it should be done by a main dealer.
Don't wish to appear negative, but working with insurance co.s, I know how keen they can be to find a reason for not being liable!

This is probably going to sound ridiculous because I have no idea how the badges are attached, but could they not be stuck on top of the original or are they too thick, not recessed enough etc.?

Doesn't sound red. at all the Griffin turned out to be
a circular embossed piece of foil(around 1mm thick) that came off clean (with thin knife and hairdryer)leaving a recessed blank alum. badge.Next prob getting the Lion in there.
Next prob getting the Lion in there.
That is the problem as the badge is not sold as a separate item!!!!!!

Not a major problem shiny alu is nicer than a Vauxhall
griffin anyday.Off topic question : How did this Vauxhall thing start it's Opel isn't it ? My old uncle
had an Vauxhall back in the 50's. Never heard of Vauxhalls since until i moved here in 96 from Scandinavia. No offence just curious.
