Hi Guys,

I've got 4k I want to spend on a daily that won't drink ridiculous amounts of fuel but will also be fairly fast.

Good handling is a must.

Please give me your suggestions.

Needs four seats really and needs to be able to sit on the motorway well (I do 250 miles a week)
Insurance group can't be ludicrous either!

Clio 172/182 for something raw and change left over or a MKV Golf GTI for something more comfortable but still fast.

This, or a Leon last gen FR or Mk5 Golf Gti - if you can get one at that price.

I recently bought one of these with 45k miles .
A 2.2 Cdti. Not a bad steer and it does 50mpg on the motorway all day long.
3 grand was all it costs.|http://thumbsnap.com/7zP752Mo[/url]

Don't they have issues chewing clutches/DMFs ? or is that just when mapped?

OP asked for fairly fast which the 140bhp 250lb/ft would make it fairly fast.
