Cycling from Beverley (East Riding) to Wroxham (Norfolk)
Discussion
After some advice from the experts on here.
I'm thinking of biking to see relatives in Norfolk.
Google Maps (cycle directions) makes it about 163 miles door to door.
I'm planning at least one overnight stop (possibly at Boston) as I'm not an experienced long distance cyclist. So that's about 80 miles per day. (I will do some training first to get my miles up)
Can I avoid the dreaded A17... Any advice on the route please. Cycle routes etc..
Thanks

You can get from Boston to Algakirk on the old road towards Spalding, you'll need to use a few short bits of the A17 to get across the Welland then there are lots of side roads that crisscross it to Kings Lynn. Once you get to KL it's pretty cycle friendly the whole way if you go through Castle Rising/Sandringham/Dersingham to the coast.
The Strava route plotting thing can be rather good at this
(Although it can also be a bit random)
It uses their heat maps to take you the way most people have ridden in that bit of the country
You put a dot on your house and then another where you need to be and "voila!"
Its free and non premium so worth a look
Good luck with the ride
Not from Sutton Bridge to KL but there's an old road just past the swing bridge which goes through Terrington. This gets you to KL and lets you use cycle paths and cycle friendly routes as far as Castle Rising.
There is a two foot wide verge beside the white line on the A17 but you're mixing it with the HGVs.
